There are some dan-sans living happily. There are also some happy elites. Lying mid-way between dan-sanism and elitism, am neutral on happiness, but quite puzzled by the delight felt by a nobody.
Life is not just like the cliche "a box of chocolate", sometimes more like a buffet dinner. There are few oysters and diners have to snatch.
Received a new trainee boy recently. On o-chart, he should be reporting to my colleague, who is more senior. By whatever means, got him virtually under me. So now I have a new tool to help develop new areas, at best encroaching others'. I have to gain an upper hand against the other colleague, who is dominating on PR events. She has good background in event management, which I can hardly compete head-on. Have to carve out new niches to build my castles rather.
As the boy is so new, current workload are not so much transferred to him. The many time consuming ads, advertorials, premiums are still with me. Have to offload to him soon (but remain control) such that I may start:
1. A new customer magazine accepting ads / promotional articles so as to cash in for the department, and provide platform for co-branding; 2. Marketing ROI monitor system (a vague and taxing project I don't even have an idea on what to do); 3. Formalised customer database management project (long long way to go) 4. Inter-brand online resources sharing platform; 5. New website (I really don't know IT)
These are the more infra-structure, strategic sides of marketing. Hope these may help press the rival back to a corner of "PR and events".
Stayed late in office till 2300 before going to Zhuhai for a trans-group marketing meeting. When the security guard came to attempt to switch off the light over me, I thought to myself: am I having too big an appetite while too small a stomach capacity? Maybe I have to eat either more selectively, or more efficiently. Or should I be eating anyway? Yet life is a struggle; if you do not take the oysters, only endless supply of cheap pineapple-and-sausage are left waiting for you. Or show that you are expert in oysters such that some other restaurants will approach with more premium ones.
To increase the capacity in short time. Have to (1) get rid of the unstable digestive system. It has been disturbing me since U-time. (2) get rid of neck pain, bad sleeps and lack of vitality etc. Hope the tai-chi may help.
Read some docs on future directions of the company, good also for a report on hand. Let's go to bed and digest it in dreams.
I pray to Thee for a good and refreshing sleep, at least once, please.
